Last week we decided to notice a domain of teens. After thinking deeply, we have come to the conclusion that we need for ourselves a more specific topic. We debated between the youth is body image and the influence of social networks on it - a topic quite a bit in the media outside the last.
After many deliberations, discussion and argument we have decided to focus on the subject of “The body image of teenagers in the technological age.”
Therefore, we changed the questions according to the new domain and scheduled the next interview with an expert in the field - Dr. Yves Lishner Freud, Department of Eating Disorders at Assaf Harofeh Hospital.
We interviewed two boys and two girls aged 15-18, so that we could get a perspective from both genders, we tried to understand their opinions, thoughts and perceptions in the context of the impact of social networks on body image.
The interviewees collaborated and told us personal experiences and experiences of their classmates.
We were surprised at how quickly the interviewees opened up to us, the conversation quickly reached sensitive, personal places and in most of the interviews there were expressions from which it was implied that these issues do not open up to teachers, parents and sometimes not between friends and class.
